The welded mesh gabions are filled with recycled concrete, brick and tile to provide a link between the old and the new.  If you walk around the site you will see many plumbing items or metal machinery parts and trinkets have been placed purposefully to the front of the gabion to provide intrigue and remind the park users of the sites industrial past.
